Getting More Yelp Reviews The Right Way<\/h4>\n

In previous times, barbers (known as barber surgeons) also performed surgery and dentistry. With the development of safety razors and the decreasing prevalence of beards, in English-speaking cultures, most barbers now specialize in cutting men\u2019s scalp hair as opposed to facial hair.
\nThe barber\u2019s trade has a long history: razors have been found among relics of the Bronze Age (around 3500 BC) in Egypt. In ancient Egyptian culture, barbers were highly respected individuals. Priests and men of medicine are the earliest recorded examples of barbers.[citation needed] Men in Ancient Greece would have their beards, hair, and fingernails trimmed and styled by the \u03ba\u03bf\u03c5\u03c1\u03b5\u03cd\u03c2 (cureus), in an agora (market place) which also served as a social gathering for debates and gossip.
\nBarbering was introduced to Rome by the Greek colonies in Sicily in 296 BC, and barber shops quickly became very popular centres for daily news and gossip. A morning visit to the tonsor became a part of the daily routine, as important as the visit to the public baths, and a young man\u2019s first shave (tonsura) was considered an essential part of his coming of age ceremony. A few Roman tonsores became wealthy and influential, running shops that were favourite public locations of high society; however, most were simple tradesmen, who owned small storefronts or worked in the streets for low prices.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom sharing my reviews on Facebook and touting my great Yelp reputation on LinkedIn to the testimonials page of my website, clients know that I value their input. In such a competitive industry, I\u2019ve found that word of mouth, referrals, and my reputation are some of the most powerful marketing tools that I have. When I share a new 5-star Yelp review on my Facebook page, a nice perk is that clients seem to love getting a \u2018shout-out\u2019 on my social media. It\u2019s my way of letting them know that I appreciate them spreading the word about me and my services.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Know Your Clients<\/h4>\n

\u201cI get between 2-10 client inquiries a day from Yelp. I now have the luxury of booking the clients that I\u2019ll really enjoy working with. With new clients, I always ask questions like, \u201cHow did you find me?\u201d When I hear Yelp, I always express my love of Yelp and tell people how important it is for my business. Then they see a link to Yelp in my email signature, reviews posted on my website and Facebook\u2014it reinforces the importance of Yelp. It\u2019s a great way to organically encourage them ultimately writing a review about me\u2014it\u2019s like wrapping our experience together up with a bow!\u201d<\/p>\n

Turn Great Clients Into Great Reviews<\/h4>\n

\u201cBy the end of the session my clients probably know the value of Yelp to me. Often times they will offer to write me a review. If they do, I always respond with a huge thank you and encourage them to follow through with it. Positive reviews are such a feel-good thing, to me it\u2019s way better than receiving a thank you card in the mail, it\u2019s my clients helping my business grow.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
